Prairie Meadows contributed $10,000 to Progress Industries through their Community Betterment Program
Funds support the P.I. Foundation's Building a Better Future Program to provide safe and accessible housing for the people with disabilities.
The Newton AKTION Club presented the P.I. Foundation with a check for $330.00 to help with the purchase on new chairs for the break room area at the Progress Industries main facility in Newton. The Foundation is purchasing 75 new chairs that will be used each day by persons served in P.I. programs. The AKTION Club's gift represents the cost to purchase 15 chairs.
Thank you to the Jasper Community Foundation for their support to the P.I. Foundation. Through a grant from the Jasper Community Foundation, persons served in the Day Habilitation program at Progress Industries have new, high-end exercise equipment to help them achieve a healthier lifestyle. Two new treadmills, one recumbent bicycle and one upright bicycle are now utilized daily by nearly all 65 people served in the program. Individuals who were reluctant to use the older equipment are now participating in the fitness zone and enjoying the benefits of leading more physically fit lifestyles. In an effort to promote healthier lifestyles throughout the agency, Progress Industries has also extended the use of the equipment to employees before or after working hours. Progress Industries is very fortunate to have an on site fitness area and we appreciate the Community Foundation's support!
